ive been offered a cornsnake but its got internal parasite and its got bigish mites on it.
what should i do.
i dont wanna leave it there but i cant deal with a snake with external and internal parasites which could spead to my other snake and beardie (possably rats not sure)

| internal parasites can be treated quickly with something like Panacur, external parasites could potentially take a few weeks to completely eradicate..................... are you able to completely quarantine it? |

the only way is to put him in the shed which is freezing
i really want him hes really nice but i dont want to put my reptiles at risk |

Was he offered to you because he's got the parasites? Or for any other reason?
I'd rip someones hands off for something like that, there's just such a great feeling when you clear an animal up, especially reps, because there's no quick 'spot-on' and it's done effect.
Lovely long term treatments, woo hoo.
Do you not have somewhere to treat him then? |

the guy said i can have him for nothing because of the parasites
its really sad hes such a lovely snake
if i get him i can take him down the vets in ipswich but its gonna cost alot
i wanna kill him for letting the snake get in the state that its in now poor thing |

im gonna get some of my mates and look in every park in chantry for the snake
hopefully if it gets found what should i do
stick him in a tank with a heat mat or try and get a vet asap

That's awful, is he completely clueless? Does he have any other animals?
I'd personally go and take the viv and everything else as well, otherwise he'll probably just go and get another snake and put it in there, which will end up with the same problems.
He obviously doesn't give 2 hoots, otherwise he would've treated it. |

well me and my mates searched every park in chantry but no luck :| we was out till 2.30 looking for him.
yea im gonna report him coz the ***** cant get away with this. who should i report him to. rspca or something |

That's disgusting! I can't believe he won't even tell you where he let it go.
If this wasn't a family forum I would use some strong words right now.
Everyone's right- shop him and if the authorities do nothing- give out his details on RFUK. Bet someone on there would take things further, probably with a baseball bat  |

anyways still no luck finding the snake anywhere poor guy
im thinking about getting my cousin involved he would properly kill the ***** :D if not he would put him in hospital with a coma |

thats an awful story i hate ppl like that. i just rehomed a snake and the guy had so many there which were not looked after its so sad. im thinkin of starting a snake rehoming service myself  |

Hmmm This topic's made me have to update the swear filter somewhat. Please keep strong words to a minimum.
I agree though, someone should sort the fella out... legally Nova, all you can do really is keep a look out for the snake.
hopefully someone will find it and take it in - or phone a rescue centre |
