Very sad that as many died as did but imagine being one of the firefighters. Full B.A. kit on, feeling your way around the burning premises (terrifying enough on its own), and finding youself confronted by a panicing 10ft boa! Huge pat on the back to them for rescuing as many as they did whilst fighting the fire I think.

Sorry if this post comes across a bit blunt but they didn't have to rescue the animals. Their priority is human life and the building, not the pets contained within it.

Rant over.
Paul (Grandson of a firefighter)

How awful must this have been for all concerned... Hat's off to the fire brigade, who it seems did their best in pretty rotten circumstances.

Just hope this does not beget a lot of negative publicity for DWA etc..... RIP poor little ones

they seemed more worried that the deadly venomous ones have escaped coz of the fire more than the poor animals burned to death. but venomous animals that can kill people shouldnt be kept as pets anyway, way too dangerous and its like playing with fire only worse. but yeah i bet the cause was probably electrical, all them heat bulbs and uv lights all on at the same time, and nearly none of them heat bulbs in reptile shops are controlled by a thermostat, not in any reptile shops i been to anyway.
such ashame though

putting it into perspective, hoggies are venomous! if they did house proper DWA species do the DWA regulations apply differently to shops?
