hi all i have had my 2 year old snake for about 3 weeks now and have tryed to feed him 3 times but he's not eatting dose anyone no how to get him to eat.
hes probs just taking a bit longer to settle in, but first thing to check is his tmps make sure they are correct and that hes warm enough to digest a meal. also make sure hes nas secure hides so he feels abit better. if he has a hide take he like to be in next time your try and fed him ie 5/7 days from you last tried, fed him before you go to bed place the mouse in his viv close o his hide then check it in the morning. thats the first things i tend to do. but dont panic and try to fed him every day as if hes scared you will be putting him of mice like negitive snake training if you like. you got him at already 2 years so he must be a feeder if i was you i would ask where you got him from, how he fed, was he a strike feeder or a drop in. has he been fussy in the past and when did he last fed with them.
i have spock to the pet shop where i got him from and they said he was a good feeder they dont understand iam taking him back so they can check him out.
Did see the snake feed before you got it? I was told not to buy a snake unless you see it feed. They could tell you it eats but be force feeding them, then when you try feed you'll have no chance. I only know because it happened to a friend of mine, not good!
