Naughty naughty pet shop man!
Yes you can get away without a stat in a faunarium most of the time but do you really want to be the rare case where it all goes wrong and you end up with crispy snakey? No you dont. The stat your looking at seams fine and a good price - you'll have to buy one eventually so just get it now and be safe. It has to be worth £25 for the peace of mind and it's one less expence when you move to a bigger viv coz you shouldn't have to upgrade then. |

i agree Tizzy, VERY naughty petshop!!!
my local rep shop won't sell you a snake if you've not got/bought a stat!
i use a matstat for one of my vivs, it works fine, you can usually pick them up new for around £20-25, so not a great bargain off ebay but not badly priced either. |

See, the pet shop we got James from did this too...nobody mentioned a thermostat or even a thermometer!! All we got in the starter kit was the snake, viv, water bowl, hide & heat mat; and we were told that was all we needed. Stupid pet shop!

| I bought a starter kit and wasn't offered a thermostat, and I never asked because I didn't know. Safe to say I have one now. |
