Has anyone ever has a snake strike at their food then not eat it? Im just interested as i have been watching some videos of people feeding their snakes and i have never seen it.

Same here- my royal does it regular.

My king does it with rats and mice, because she won't eat rodents. Never done it with a chick though

On that subject of chick Kazerella, I've heard and seen of people feeding day olds to corns, I didn't think this was good for them.
Seeing as you seem to have a variety of snakes and feeds, I thought I'd pick on you to ask that one. :)

I wouldn't feed my corns chicks, just because they are naturally rodent eaters, but my king wouldn't eat anything else. We keep trying her with rodents every now and then, but she just doesn't eat them. Chicks are alright for kings, because they have a more varied diet in the wild that includes rodents, birds, other snakes, frogs and even earth worms!

My Royal is also picky about what she'll eat. She will only have mice. If we offer her a rat pup she just doesn't eat it.

some snakes will only eat chicks but if fed regular the yolk sacs need to be removed due to its hi fat content, i dont think they make a good constant diet. but i do think a change for your snake is good. i fed one chick with yolk sac every few months to my larger corns for a vitimin and protein change.

chicks are fine as a treat, but they got less calcium than a mouse so don`t make recomended staple diet
