Hello, my 2 year old corn has suddenly stopped being bothered about his food. He used to be a right little hunter, but now he only eats if I leave the mouse on a rock and he's nothing else to do.

I've recently sprayed him for mites using 'Zoo vet mite off'- does any one know if not eating is a side effect of the treatment?

I know that mites can put snakes off their food, but he was only treated as a precaution, because I never found any on him -it was actually my royal python that had 'nits'

Not sure if it's a side effect or not because as yet I've not encountered any mites etc, but I sometimes have a similar problem with mine but its usualyy just before he sheds. Also, I use tongs to feed mine cos I can't stand touching pinkies, and now he seems more interested in the tongs than the pinkies themselves!!!

My king snake is like that
bless 'em.

I hope he starts eating properly again soon. I'm not worrying too much at the moment because he does eat eventually. I would be a lot more concerned if he wasn't eating at all.

Thanks for replying x
