as this seams to be a question that comes up alot, would it be worth someone trying to make a chart showing an age-weight chart for people to use for rough referance.

all it would need is say people to weigh there corns every month then a chart can be compiled.

if this does sean like a good idea, im happy to make a chart up an keep it updated on here

now turn for your thoughs good or s**t idea..........

Could be an idea, but very difficult because of differences.
Although it would mean then that you'd be able to work out an average weight.
So many factors also need to go into it, Would the age be monthly/bi-annual/annual etc.
Then the updating. That's the hard part, I'm still pieceing together a map I started months ago and with updates it gets harder to do and is very time consuming.

Not trying to put you off, but it could be awkward, then again it may not.

wasnt thinking of nothing fancy just a simple bar graph, snakes name an age (month/year) along bottom youngest first, then weight up side

As you can see I only started doing it recently, but if people tried to weigh once a month and post the weight it would be quite easy to take an average and plot it.

Sounds like a volunteer!! . May seem like a silly question, but we have never weighed Bubbles - how do you go about doing it? He's never still enough to even get a decent photo - not sure I'd be able to weigh him!

Yep, you can see the period where Cleo wasn't eating too, but not losing any weight. She's making up for it now though

reason i said do it as a bar graph was that way it wont get to confusing with lots of lines an as a bar graph you could write the age on it too so people can compair weight an age

not sure if i'm the only one this applies to, but i don't have an accurate DOH (date of hatch) for any of mine bar 1 (stripey Maple). i imagine my figures (of guesstimate ages) might throw things out?

although i think it's a very useful idea

Maple
8 months 23g
10 months 71g
11 months 92g

CherryPetal
~5 months 7g
~7 months 34g
~8 months 38g
~10 months 103g
~11 months 123g

the first weight recorded for each of these was on arrival, Maple from a breeder on a maintenance diet, Petal from a rep shop, again on a maintenance diet. Maple hatched Dec '07 and i'm guessing Petal was around the same time but really the age in months for her is an approximation.

what about plotting adult weights too? where the date (or year) of hatch isn't known, but if you're sure your corn is over for example 5 years old
