Hi
I'm new here and in a terrible position! I dont know wether to get a royal python or a corn snake. I have joined the royal python forum aswell, but the feeding of them is worrying me. Most corn snakes seem to eat well, but can be fast when handled! I have had 2 before and had to rehome them due to biting issues ...
I know how to care for them, just need to be convinced to chose them (or royals!!)

Thank You!!! Corns are winning at the moment!! I have a faunarium set up with 2 hides, a water bowl, a plant and branches going along the sides of the whole tank...It looks like any corn snake would enjoy it!!

Well you are asking on a Corn site
Depends on whether you want to watch it grow or not?
After about a year old they slow down a bit so are easier to handle. |

yearling or older in my opinion, hatchlings are too fast and fiddley. by a year old you get a better idea of temperament and adult colouring |

Thanks. Yeah, kind of knew the people on the royal site would say royal, and here would be corns. I think overall corn snakes are better for me, as I dont know if I could cope with the royal's feeding. I think I will buy one from 3 months up...So that it has had time to settle down before I buy it.
Thanks again Aoife |

Thank You!!! I'm very excited!! Its certainly going to be a lot of motivation for me! Lots of Exams to get through and now I can think about my little snake while I'm doing them! Its un-sexed but I am going to call it maíz... de maíz is spanish for corn! 2 of my guinea pigs have spanish names too!! Naranja and Rojo!!!
I hope everyone else will be happy over Christmas with their corn snakes!!

lol I have one tank bought and buying another soon!! There will be no problems housing them when adult as its a bit away yet, giving me time to bond!! No doubt I'll have double the amount I started off with next Xmas!! There is a lovely snow corn snake in my local rep shop!!! But I must resist until I have bonded and settled miaz and silver in!!

It is addictive.
I'm still trying to think of a way of justifying £1000 for an Amazon Basin Tree Boa to the OH. Any suggestions would be welcome .
