hello, im new to this site so dont know if im posting this in the right part.
i have a corn snake angel thats almost 3yrs old and not sure how to sex him/her. i wont prob or pop because i dont no how but also dont have anyone near me like an expert who can do it for me.
someone once told me about counting scales, so was wondering if anyone can tell me a bit more about it in detail?

your local rep shop might be able to probe your corn but i'd recommend going to a specialist rep shop rather than a pet shop that also sells reps - there IS a difference, proper rep shop staff should be able to pop/probe as appropriate! |

The idea is simple, you just count the two rows of scales on the underside of the snake, from the vent to the end of the tail. Males have longer tails and therefore more scales. If the total of the two rows is 130 or less then it’s probably a girl, 140 or more its a boy. Counts between 130 and 140 could be either, |

The counting scales isn't always accurate. My 3 were sexed by scale counting and tail length/girth. Kelloggs was apparently female, and Sid was apparently Male.
They ended up being the opposite when i got them probed. |
