hiiiii snake lovers, thanks for takeing the time 2 look at my post
i have been wondering if i should start hiding my snakes food (not to hard!!!) so it doesnt get bored,and i dont know what else to do with the setup-it has a bed,a plastic plant,a water bowl,some stones for decoration and im bored with it so im sure that she is lol thanks xxx |

I don't know about hiding the food, but if you want to keep her interested, then just change the hot/cold ends round and move the ornaments every now and then. |

hiding food isn't a great idea, it'll get covered in substrate that the snake could potentially ingest which is dangerous. like Mulv says move things round every now and again, or introduce new items. frequently handling also provides mental and physical stilmulation for them. they don't get bored half as quickly as humans remember |

i have a heat mat under neath the bedding and a spotlight and my viv isnt big enough 4 both, im getting a new 1 soon though which will be bigger and better for mia xx |

I only ask as reptiles are cold blooded, so need both cool and hot areas to regulate their temperatures and if the only hide they have is at the hot end they will stay there regardless. So best to get a hide at the cool end if possible too.
Sure you can squeeze something in, they like to be snug anyway |

you can always improvize - carboard box, margerine/ice cream tub, kitchen roll tube - doesn't have to look fab just be practical! |

i managed 2 change my viv about a little and im not sure what size it is but im getting a new pink viv 4 my birthday (january 11th :P) lol, i no have more plants and i put her bed (a flat water dish 4 plants turned upside down lol) on a piece of slate and made a hot and cold side,the cold side isnt very big but its still there i will try and get more pics xxx |
