Do you have trouble getting the temps up through that much substrate(i did).Do you have a heat mat inside the viv? |

Thanks for your comments, i will try and answer some of the questions. Cost. £70 for the pine contiboard, all cut to size. had lots of trouble tracking down pine board. seems to have gone out of fasion. I got lucky with the glass. 4mm toughened was quoted £50 from a glass shop, have a friend with his own doulbe glazzing company who quoted me £20, then wouldnt tack any money. base runner was very hard to track down as well but again got lucky. so £70 for the viv and then spent £80 internal decoration.
LED lights i got from a local pet shop. have 1 blue 1 white.
heat mat is inside the viv with a large wall tile 12"x18" over it to hold it down. temp probe and thermometer probe are ontop of the tile. maintains a constant 30 deg. second probe on the base at th cold end reads 19-21 deg.
strange thing at the moment is that they both seem to spend most of their time coiled in the plant at the top of the viv next to the air vent. they must come down at night because i have had to clean waste from the floor of the viv.
This is where they spend alot of time.
