Hi, George my corn is 8wks old and i just wanted to check that his set up is ok with you more experienced owners. The warmer end is set at 30 with heat mat on a thermostat. I have put some background round as it looked quite open for him. Would greatly appreciate your comments/suggestions.

George is in the tube, he was feeling camera shy :)

just realised that some of you will notice the thermometer is only showing 20, its because i cleaned him out earlier and forgot to put it back in, its showing correct now.

it looks ok mate for a basic starter set up, you may want to put some form of ruffage in there to assit in shedding. maybe a rock or piece of cork bark.

also how is lid secured??? corns are very good escape artists.

I did have a rock in there, but thought it was too overcrowded, will put it back in :)
the lid is very tight, plus i usually have a band round it. have a larger viv ready for him but he too small for that at the mo.
thanks

you may want to get some clamps to put o nthe edges, as even with a band and a tight lid, i've seen a corn open a glass slididng viv that had a pressure lock on it :P

they're all trained by houdini whilst in the egg! i swear

looks a nice little set up, you don't have to have anything flash, particularly when they're small, it's very practical my only concern with securing the lid with a rubber band is if the snake manages to push it's head or part of it's body out then finds itself trapped with the pressure from the elastic

ok, will find some clamps of some sort then. thank you for your comments, was bit concerned and felt bit guilty that he wasn't in a fancy viv set up (have one here when he's bit bigger!) but he seems happy enough, comes out of his tube when we're about in the kitchen, he's not shy at all.

when we do get him out he seems quite interested in the hissing cockroaches in the tank next to him lol

Thats exactly how i keep my babies, and in the same type tubs. I do use elastic bands around them and never had a problem. I use the realy thick type bands that need alot of power to stretch them.
You can just see them in the back ground of this pic.
