i have had my snake for 2 weeks. fed him every 5 days. he has ate 4 pinkies. 2 seperate and 2 in one feed. i am curious. when will he begin to shed.

Its not really something you can predict unless you have previous shedding records.

also he does not strike i just have to leave it in there for him. is there anyway i can get him to strike. hes only a baby mabee 13-14".

I've heard that they tend to strike more as they grow. Why do you want him to strike?
My corn sheds roughly every month or so as he's growing but its hard to tell without the records.

People like their snakes to strike as they see it as more natural behaviour (not always the case e.g the snakes comes across a dead prey item) and it makes feeding even more interesting. Like Ell said, they tend to strike more with age, but moving the mouse in a set way such as in circles could cause him to strike more aggresivly at his food.

As above, a lot of Corns seem to strike as they get older, if you keep dangling it in its face to try and get it to strike when it doesn't want to the chances are you're just going to disturb it.

It you want an animal to do tricks and look cool, perhaps a Labrador?

2 of my yearlings just gently take the mice from the tongs, my other (larger) yearling and my adults all strike feed, i think they grow into it
