this may be a silly question with no real answer but i will go and ask anyway...
if a snake was het for something, would its visible colourings change...?
ie. my normal has a white outline round each of its saddles. could this be a gene passed down from it parents that could be a hint to wot they were??
does that make sense??

wow!!! not a stupid question...
any ideas if there is any site to look at or if any of you guys know if the white is a marker.
only ask cos aint seen it before...and might help wen picking a female for him, if i can guess who his parents might have been...(if he is het for anything) |

Not a silly question at all, i have seen some have a little more colouration of one parent than the other. |

I think that there is something special about het bloodred Corns, but can't think of it off the top of my head. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I often am. But am i right in thinking that genetic traits can often go a few generations without surfacing again? So the white markers on the saddles could potentially not have been seen on any relatives since it's great-great-grandparents. But likewise, they could have been on ALL relatives before and after.
Or have i really just messed up a perfectly good thread? |

How the hell do they tell?? You see it on snake sales alot! |
