I thought id sneak in a couple of this guy aswell.. not a corn but this is the only time he has let me handle him without freaking out, musking everywhere and repeatedly biting me. infact about 10 secs after these were taken he bit me 5 times..lol. (he's at least twice this size now!)

He's an albino black rat snake. he is the same age as the corns but growing twice as fast. He should top out around 7 - 8 foot. |

I wish I could step him, but he's bigger than me.
Plus he has to look after the other stepees. I try not the feed the captives, but Lewy gives them mouldy bread when I'm not looking |

ummm i did think about breeding him to an albino everglades to produce bubblegum rats... i think i would get stuck with the hatchlings though, although there beautiful people really dont seem keen on hybrids these days. |

Ok... sorry for being a total thicko... but what actually is musking?... is it like peeing on you?? like dogs / some animals pee to scent their territories, but cats have scent glands around their mouths that they rub on you....?? be grateful if someone could clear this up for me.... also, can corn snakes 'musk'?? cheers.. Its disgusting! They release a gooey liguid from there anal gland that is unlike anything you have ever smelt in your life! This guy gave me my first experience of musking and beleive me i was heaving with my eyes streaming. The worst thing is aswell no matter how much you scrub yourself the smell lingers for days. They do it as a defensive mechanism to scare of any predator they beleive is trying to eat them. and yes corns can musk. some snakes musk arnt as bad as others but im told north american rats like this one are bad. The king rat snake (an asian rat) has a nickname of the stinking goddess for this reason. |

Yeh the riff-raff really don't seem to stay long, i think they find there true calling and migrate to the other side where they can be as mean and inconsiderate as they please. |
