Amateur question!

If you have a striped snow, are you likely to get a motley anery in a clutch? I've come to understand that the stripe gene is a variation from motleys

Also, observation had told me snows and anerys are often in the same clutch, hence the above morph logic

Basically I'd love a motley anery and a striped snow, and would love to breed Sirius in the future, but wondered if it would be worth waiting to breed my own motley anery or if I should just give in and buy one I think they're beauteous! But I love snows so much I would like Sirius to have a snowy grilfriend (when they are big enough, or course!)

if you have a genetic stripe and breed with a normal that's not het stripe you'll get visual normals that are het stripe.
if you have a genetic motley that is visually striped and breed with a normal that's not het motley you'll get visual normals that are het motley.

so to get an anery motley you need both parents to be either homozygous (visual) or heterozygous (genetic) anery AND motley............... i think................. where's BE??

GP's pretty spot on.

Snows are basically a mixture of Anery and Amel.

If you have a genetic stripe snow you will not be able to produce an anery motley, however if you have a motley snow that is just stripe-looking and you breed it to an Anery Motley or Anery het.Motley you should get Anery Motleys.

the stripe gene is on the same locus as motley but the motley gene is dominant
if you paired a motley to a stripe youd get all motleys het stripe

haha yeah i know, im not very clued up about it myself, its all to do with the genes and dna of the snake for all them different colours. i just ended up buying a normal as i was told they have the least medical problems and the person who told me that may be right, i never had any trouble with blake my snake such as regurigation or anything like that. also normals are the cheapest. other colours are alot more expensive and i dont believe that something should cost hundreds or even thousands more <<(only rich people would pay thousands) just because that specimen is a different colour, it is the same species regardless of colour lol
