i'm gonna start taking him out to fed soon, just letting him settle into the new bigger tub first. i have always fed in the tub so far, i was advised that it was ok, as long as you keep an eye on them to ensure they don't swallow any substrate, which i do. i was told it was ok while they are still young, but when i go up to a proper viv to take him out to feed.
impaction - whats that ??? |

Hi Halfpint - Impaction is where the substrate is eaten and causes blockages as the snakes stomach isn't designed to eat wood etc so it doesn't get digested.
We feed in cat litter trays - also stops the snake thinking it's feeding time every time you go in the Viv/Rub so will cut down the risk of a mistaken identity tagging
Nice looking Snake! |

You've got a tube! They love tubes. So glad I found that out- cheap and cheerful hide |

yeah he has the tube going from warm to cool ends of the tub and 1 hide in each end too !!
last night i came into the living room where his tub is and he was curled up in the tube, which only has a diameter of about 1", there a curl of him sticking out each end!! it looked really funny, i would have taken a pic but i know as soon as i got the camera he'd move !! |
