went to one of my local garden centres today... they had some very pretty hatchlings, i was very tempted to get a crimson or a creamsicle!

they also had a pair of pewter corns for £420! could anyone tell me why they are so much more expensive than other corns?

I've noticed this too - I think its something to do with the numbr of traits? If you take a peek at Ians Vivarium http://www.iansvivarium.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cornmorphs.html, the high end morphs are the ones that REALLY blow a hole in your pocket!! But if you think about how many generations and hets are required to breed them then you can understand why people would charge more.. though sometimes I think the prices are rediculous! I guess if you're aiming for a particular morph the effort involved is immense and I can't see many casual breeders accidentally hitting on pewters, lavenders and the like.. it takes alot of selective breeding..

Supply and demand. Some take more time and effort to breed so there are fewer of them, so they are worth more.

give it a few more years and they'll probably drop in price as more are bred and are available for sale, well that's what I'm hoping anyway! Same with pied Royals, I'd like one when they're cheaper - putting things into perspective my horse and 2 ponies altogether cost less than a grand you couldn't get a pied Royal for that!
