Hello, I have a friend who is interested in keeping lizards and in particular Leopard Geckos, are they easy to keep?

One thing she asked was whether they needed live feeding, I said probably, but I'd ask.

cheers for any info.

you can buy tinned dead food and a vibrating food dish to try and make leo's take prekilled food but i dont think many take to it.

mine are really easy to keep.

feed them on mealies which takes no effort wot so ever. just keep them in there cricket tub with a bit of gut loading stuff and a slice of carrot/ potato as a water source and job done.
refill dish every 2 days with fresh mealies. 1 tub lasts me prob 2 weeks and i got 4 leos.

tried crickets but there are a pain to dust and feed. plus got sick of the escapes.

You can put Leos on sand.
Do not listen to others. It is absolute bull poo.

Their natural home is in the sand.
We keep them on sand in the reptile centre and they are fine.

They don't need UV, just a heatmat and basking lamp.
Quite a few hides needed and you could keep 3-4 in a 2ft viv.

1 Male, 2-3 females.

Why would you have a heat mat and a basking lamp?
