Well, after a while it transpired that Bebe is a) male and b) very aggressive so I separated them last week, where Bebe earned the nickname 'ScarFace' after trying to kill me while I moved him from the perfecto to the faunarium.
I'm starting to think that Bebe is wild caught - partially because he is much happier in a 'forest' environment. He seems very familiar and comfortable, digs alot, moves things and eats anything. He was also illegally imported. Jim on the other hand seems a bit lost, favouring man made hides rather than burying himself under bark, and never really exploring. He hasn't eaten for about three weeks now so I'm a little concerned, but I'm going to talk to someone on Saturday and see if they can give me any advice. It may be that he's just settling in to his own private forest, or that he's still a bit traumatized by Bebe's aggression and his circus antics- or he might just be a fussy eater, so I'll try him on small crickets again (mealworms don't seem to be his thing!).
Anyway, here are some pics of them in their new homes. I was pretty chuffed with them myself! They are both in Exo Terra Large Flat Faunariums (46x30x17cm) with eco earth/orchid bark substrate, cork bark and flower pot hides, fake plants and exo terra water dishes. Bebe is around 10cm and Jim is around 7cm (not including tails!) - they are both preferring the hot end at the moment - I found that having the heat mats on the side wasn't verry affective so put them underneath to build some heat and they both seem alot happier (for a given value of scorpion happiness )

And here are my two other beasties, Othello and Tachikoma:

But if something lacks in size, doesn't always mean it's bad. Some smaller things are very good,
For example:
I ride a monkeybike, and it's better than larger bikes because it gets through traffic easier. |

A pitty rider!!! Does that mean I know someone on the island that'll let me put a tent in his garden (for free) on the next monkey-run? I've just flogged a pitty (thumpstar) frame for 6 quid on ebay as well, if i had known, i would've given you first refusal. If you needed/wanted it. |
