hi there, my snake has just done her first shed, ive had her for 8 weeks and i was wondering if anyone can tell me how offtern they shed, i measuered her old skin and it came in at 2feet 9inches, it was a wonderfull thind to witness, all help and advice is gladly recieved, many thanks
Hi, i`ve had my snake since october and he`s shed 5 times in that period. the first and second times were a month exactly but since then it seems to have been about every six weeks. I`m not sure and maybe a more experienced owner will be able to tell you but i believe an adult snake will only shed about twice a year. Also you cannot use the measurement of the shed skin as an accurate size for your snake as the skin will stretch during shedding.
most younger ones are around every month give or take 2 weeks as they get older it does slow down and can be as little as two three times a year breeing females shed more as you get your prediced shed and then you are regaining any lost weight
