Hello all, sorry to be a divvy.

Jonb mentioned he gave his snake a bath (ooh err) as it helps it poo. I've had Elaphe since Saturday, fed her 2 pinkies on Tuesday but I still can find any poo in her viv. I've been checking the Aspen but I can't see any. Is this normal? Am I worrying for no reason? Should I give her a bath tonight? I don't even know what snake poo looks like?

If I do give Elaphe a bath, should I do it in my bathtub or a Tupperware box? I take it it's a lukewarm bath too. She wouldn't drown, I'm sure snakes can swim?

Sorry to be so inexperience about this, I've ordered a booked from Amazon but it's still not turned up yet.

Also, it will be 2 days today since I’ve fed her, she should be okay to handle?

Thanks.

Hi, i bath mine (the snake) in approx 2 ins of water in the bath but when he was smaller i used a washing-up bowl which i bought specially, but yes they are good swimmers and he now enjoys the bath. The poo itself looks similarish to bird poo and tends to smell. So dont worry it may take 2 days or so before he is ready to go. If you do try the bath idea the water is slightly warmer than luke warm and if your snake is small make sure they cant fit through the holes in the plug or overflow. If you need anymore help just ask.

Jonb is right, is does look very similar to bird poo, although it stinks when it's nice and fresh, also the white part of it feels like wet sand, so likewise if you're putting your hand through the substrate and feel something very much like wet sand, then that'll be poo. :) nice thought, feeling snake poo! :)

Mine take up to about 4 days sometimes, so i wouldn't worry to much.
