Hello, my name is Dava and I'm the proud owner of a beautiful Sunglow Cornsnake named 'Elaphe Sans-Hands'. She's a beauty, tonight will be my first time feeding her and I'm REALLY nervous about. Hope she eats, I'll be able to sleep tonight then.
Look forward to being part of something beautiful.
Great site be the way Lewy. |

Hi Dava and welcome, good luck tonight with the feed hope it goes well, just a little tip make sure you feed out of the viv so they dont associate door opening with feeding and this also makes sure they dont ingest any substrate. let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the tips pips. I was gonna feed her in the viv but your suggestion to feed her outside makes sense. Will I be able to handle her straight after feeding though, thought this wasn't a good idea? |

I feed mine in a plastic container and when he`s finished i put the container back in the viv on its side and he generally slides straight into his cave without me holding him, but if this doesn`t work i pick him up gently and place him carefully back inside his viv. |

Hi and welcome. I would suggest returning Elaphe Sans-Hands (great name!) to their vivarium as soon as they finish eating and not disturbing them for 48 hours afterwards. This gives them time to digest in peace and reduces the risk of regurgitation, which they can do if nervous.
Can you tell I have been reading my Corn Snake Manual today? lol
