hey mark, noticed you guess the sex of a snake in another post, would you hazard a guess on mine if I put a pic up, I have no intention of breeding so I don't find it necessary to get him popped or probed, I would just like to know what you would guess the sex to be, we were told in the shop he was a male but were told to take him back to be probed to be sure, obviously we never did. I know its not a definate way of sexing but it doesn't matter to me what sex he/she is!! |

Hi Ell, & Thx
Go on Potter, send me a pic or post one. Would be nice to see the tail from the top and maybe the bottom and also, if you can, count the scale pairs on the tail from the vent towards the tip. (easier to do that on a shed skin) Its only an educated way to tell, but probing is more acurate.
What type of morph is it? With some lighter morphs, such as snows, you can candle the tail and see through. A bit like when you did as a kid with a torch on your fingers so you can see the bones and pretty much the same as with eggs. Do not use a lamp or ceiling bulb as this can get v hot and cause burns, but a good stong torch often works, with the lense covered to give a pencil beam. Give it a go. ill get some pics up soon of my reps. There are a few on photobucket, but old ones. My burm is in my profile pic though.

Yep, odds are, hes a male, but.....it is 50/50 up to 130 female over 140 usually is a male. Anything in between, count again or guess towards the high or low.
Glad u like the burm. He is 9`3" as he slides full stretch and weighs 2lb off 2 stone, or 11.7 kilos, if your younger than me
