Hi some you may remember my Cali King snake regurgitated a few months back. Took him to the vets and he had a shot of antibiotic and seemed to pick up but a few weeks later he regurgitated again and has done so ever since despite me slowly building up his food size He also has horrible mucous poo.
He has been back to the vets who suspected cryptosporidium but this has now been excluded after a PCR (DNA) test sent to the States was negative. That is good news as there is no treatment and it is highly contagious sp was worried my Corn may get it too.
He has continued to regurgitate though, usually 2-3 days after feeding. He still has a good appetite though. Blood tests exclude infection so he is now going to have some metronidazole and anti-inflammatory and if that dosn't work he will need a endoscope inserting to view his stomach. Poor little thing. He has lost a lot of weight. Plan is to start feeding him again in 5 days. Fingers crossed.
