Yeah I'd let him go for that with his viv to a forum member ONLY.

I've got him advertised on Preloved and a few people have asked if his viv was available too so I told them £90 all in.

the set up is (off the top of my head cos I can't find a measuring tape) 35" x 12" x 22", it's not a purpose-built viv its a conversion but I've been using it for years (it was my first viv!). The only problem I've had is when using fine beech chippings as the bits get in the glass runners (but are easily removed with a paperclip it's just a faff. He's currently on a sheet of newspaper with shredded paper as substrate with no problems. I've changed his hides and moved stuff around since the pics were taken.

The viv

Beech the snake:

I call him 'the fatty amel' on here as he was quite overweight when I got him but with sensible feeding and regular handling he's lost about 50g and is looking much better.
I'd much rather sell him to somebody from here who I feel like I know and that I know has researched his care and who knows where to go to ask questions.

I know the viv looks a bit bare, all the fake plants went in the 4 footer when I moved Birch and Spruce into it last year.

whatever you decide TM, CONGRATULATIONS a snakie will be yours soooooooooooon!

no stat on this one, sorry, the mat is 11" x 11" and is included, it's Birch's original heatmat and has been used for years and never had any problems with it getting too warm.
ideally he could do with a proper water bowl (rather than a pyrex bowl - it was all I could find in a hurry that was big enough!).
His current hide in the warm end isn't shown on the photo's but is terracotta/ceramic thing, his hide at the cool end is the mole drain (ceramic tube) seen in the top pic in the middle of the viv, that could do with replacing with a proper hide as it's a pain in the bum trying to get him out of it, lol

let me know if you want any more info or photos or whatever, email addy is on my profile

I won't be offended if you decide you don't want him

At the moment I've got Birch and Spruce in the 4 foot viv with a lamp dimmer switch turned to about 3/4's, same for the little guys in the 2.5 footer. Queenie's RUB doesn't have a stat or dimmer switch and sits at the right temp and so does Beech's in the 3footer.

Good question, it's both a yes and no.

Having a viv without a stat could be asking for trouble as it *could* get too hot.

I've got vivs with and without stats, and they all run at a decent temperature, so you could get a much different range of opinions on this one.

What it depends on at the end of the day, is your choice on how you're gonna keep your snake.
There is NO correct way of doing it(there are wrong ways).
So long as the snake is happy and healthy then you're doing a good job. If you're unsure, then GIVE the snake to me.
