technically yes..............
BUT the hatchies would be in the dark all the time - no natural photoperiod
AND you'd have to open the tub everytime you wanted to check on them
AND ice cream tubs are quite big (well the ones i buy are lol )

if you're buiding your rack around your tubs/RUBs then make sure the height of the shelves means the tubs fit in snugly.....that will help keep the lids on securely and help prevent escapees

i've also heard that the 'flip top' type boxes aren't very secure either with a few reports of escapees from those too :(

You could get hatchling tubs from 888reptiles
sexychef Posted - 06/11/2009 : 23:26:28
as eeji says cricket/takeaway tubs start to get loose and break after you open them a few times
eeji Posted - 06/11/2009 : 20:17:15
cricket tubs aren't the most secure things in the world, so you may get some escapes :(

I use clip shut boxes from asda and melt some vent holes in them

The same tubs as Black crix/locust??

They have a better lid than normal cricket tubs.

i have a few of them gp but they are quite shallow been looking at rubs and some of them are only 35 mm high on the inside
gingerpony Posted - 05/11/2009 : 22:04:02
i use the sort of tubs you get from some chinese takeaways rather than RUBs.........

i've not got any to hand but i think they're roughly 4" x 6" ish
