we have spoken to our local pet shops and they are more than willing to have some when we eventually do breed hink they find it hard to get hold of them around us

hu hannah we have done quite a bit of reserch and we think we could defo get rid of he babies and we have plenty of room to house them even if they didnt sell think we will be waiting with bella but may end up with another female yet if the mrs is feeling generous to me....lol

you would be better off waiting and researching everything fully before breeding.. wait till bella is big enough and go for it the year after next - that way you know she will definately be ready - you would be able to get her over the recommended weight - but also it gives you more time to decide if you have the space to house hatchlings and incubate them and find new homes for them..

id love to breed some little babies but i have to wait at least another 3years before i can but it gives me plenty of time to decide if il def do it - would a local shop be willing to take the babies from you? loads of corns are being bred but not all find a home straight away - my local shop still has loads of this years babies on the shelves waiting to get a new home..

handled quite alot almost daily and fed every week on either 2 med or 1 large i know its still hard to say just a rough ideawould be good just incase i have to buy another female for breeding with latter next year

depends on how frequently she's fed, on what size prey item, how that compares to her current size, if she's handled much............ lots of variables!

ow much weight is she likly to put on untill next year??
gingerpony Posted - 19/09/2009 : 21:26:00
producing eggs takes so much energy and as they often go off feeding whilst being gravid, some completely for the whole time, others just nearer the end of term, carrying enough weight is hugely important...........

so yes i'd definitely wait another year

i would wait another year,no need to rush these things and power feeding wont do her alot of good
