Posted - 06/09/2009 : 11:29:51 Just a quick question about sexing. Eddie my corn has never been sexed, and 'he' is almost 2 years old. I am just wondering if anyone could give advice on how to sex the corn visually? I don't particularily have any desire to have 'him' probed because I don't intend on breeding but I am curious.
Any help would be good.
Thanks. |

and if done properly it wont stress the snake at all.
I would feel stressed if someone stuck a probe in me, now matter how well they did it!

Posted - 13/09/2009 : 22:42:55 I think I will have to leave it be... although, I probably should try to find out what sex he is. I hate to think I will have a snake with identity issues! lol.
I do think the whole sexing thing is very tricky, it is no wonder that there are so many unexpectedly gravid females! |

Posted - 12/09/2009 : 01:55:17 as for everyone saying 50% male ? the other50% ? my female looks like your picture n she layed eggs though the male fits the description of a female im totally clueless now it can take till they are mature to be sexed the female still has a slender tail the male shorter n stumpier aka confussed.com! |

Posted - 06/09/2009 : 12:29:23 you can get a rough guide by the shape of the end of the tail, if it continues to a steady poit its prob a male and if its sorta got a rounded lump around an inch or two from the end of thetail its prob a female (theres a slight chance i got that the wrong way round but if so i think ill be corrected!! lol) |

Posted - 06/09/2009 : 12:26:22 If you post a pic of his tail from the bottom we can have a look, just make sure his tail is streched out and straight. Sexing a corn from its tail isnt very accurate though.
A good rep shop will probe the snake for free, and if done properly it wont stress the snake at all. |
