Has anyone successfully bred corns without cooling them?
The cooling bit worries me cos of RI's
I wont be cooling my royals so just wandering about not cooling corns, though i know they are far hardier anyway.. |

Posted - 13/07/2009 : 16:15:43 Hi, My snakes have recently bred, and weren't cooled, or brumated. All the eggs hatched, and she is about to lay a second clutch. By the way, some of my eggs went mouldy, but still hatched, so if ur eggs go mouldy, dont throw them!! |

Posted - 12/07/2009 : 23:13:05 the cooling period is designed to simulate the winter and therefore hibernation (if required), it serves the purpose of resetting the snake's reproductive hormones in preparation for mating. Seems like it isn't necessary by the other posts tho... |

Posted - 06/07/2009 : 13:27:31 None of mine were cooled and i had 3 lay. One lot of eggs went yucky 1 lot hatched/hatching 1 lot in the incubator and looking fantasic! so no you don't have too cool them but it is advised. Cooling itself shouldn't cause RIs just need to make sure the viv doesn't get humid and is still kept cleen while snakey is sleeping. |
