Posted - 28/05/2009 : 15:13:32 hey its getting nearer to the time that they are due to hatch... what am i looking for before they hatch (any signs in the eggs that give an indication that they will hatch. and i have read that they will have to be housed seperatly and should shed about a week after hatching and then try feeding them?is this correct? xx |

Posted - 06/07/2009 : 09:51:24 if it's not out in 24hours it may need a little help, i had one this year that was properly stuck! had to VERY gently cut the egg wide enough for it to free it's head and hatch properly |

Posted - 06/07/2009 : 08:22:17 most pippies will peer out of the egg, then go back in, maybe for as much as a day or 2. be patient and it will come out. |

Posted - 01/07/2009 : 00:02:45 advertise on here, preloved, the dark side........... ask your local rep shop............. ideally you want them to have shed and had a few feeds before selling them though |

Posted - 30/06/2009 : 23:59:25 It is as easy as it sounds! I keep the eggs in a takeaway box in the viv and they hatch fine. Can someone advise me on how I can get sell/give away the hatchlings as I have 30 coming any day now! |

Posted - 28/05/2009 : 20:12:14 the eggs might start to dimple immediately before pipping. you can leave the newly hatched babies in the incubator for up to 24 hours then, yes, they do need housing separately. plastic tubs like you get from some chinese takeaways are a good size for hatchlings - just make sure they're clean first and put air holes in for ventilation. they usually shed within about a week and thhen offer them their first feed, probably the smallest pinky you can find. you might have to leave it in the tub with the hatchling for them to work out for themselves that it's actually food. best substrate is kitchen roll/towel - easy to put in, easy to replace if it's soiled, it's cheap, it's readily available and it's safe to feed from. |
