So my female is 7 years old this year. She'll be 8 years old next year. Does anybody think it would be safe to brumate her from November '13-January '14 and then breed her again next year or would you say she'd be best resting from now on? I personally don't know as she's not actually showing any age right now but I don't know what she'll be like next year.
My male is fine to breed next year as he's only 5 years old but I only have the one female so if she can't breed then I won't be breeding at all next year.

Thoughts?

I think corn snakes can keep breeding until their either become infertile or aren't able to keep up their bodyweight/condition so it becomes unsafe. From the research I have done, many corns can and do breed even into the beginning of their teens!

How are your eggs doing? Is the burst one still okay?

I would think one of the other variables would be how many times has she been bred..

The more times she's been through it the more accumulated stress her system has.

I've just heard of a 13yr old corn laying slugs for the first time ! I know breeding is different and takes more out of them but as long as she's healthy and a good weight, which I know you'll make sure of, she should be fine .

Well if you decide yes, good luck on your venture!

Really though it probably depends on the individual female; if she's still fit and healthy and is big enough (which I assume she is at that age), she'd probably be fine :)

Then again I have zero first-hand experience so... :P

Well he's definitely big enough at 5'6" long She'd just need a bit of bulking up before the brumation as she lost quite a bit of weight laying her clutch this year which she had no problems with Thanks guys!
I am going to be keeping an eye on her though as I knew she was due to shed so I went to check on her, she's shed alright... In about a million pieces. She's never had a bad shed in her entire life and suddenly two bad sheds one after the other come out of no-where.

Is it? I thought it would have been the time that you start resting them down and retiring them lol. Hence the question XD
