Hey guys. I've currently got two corn snakes in my collection that I plan to breed in a year or two's time. One of which is a very young Anery black albino - I'm not sure if he's breeding capable as his lower tail seems to have a criq in it, most likely its developed poorly (regardless, he eats, sheds, and poops well), but if I'm lucky he will be
 (Very similiar)
My female however is a bit older and a lot friendlier, she's an Amel (red albino). I'm not overly concerned with her ability to breed in the future.
So, a few questions - when they're old enough, is it a wise choice?
What sort of off-spring would I expect to get morph wise? I'm only aware of the Anery's parents who were a standard Carolina and what appeared to be a ghost corn.
If a snake has lost a small bit of its tale or part of it misdeveloped, is it still capable of breeding?

While a kink or similar at the end of the tail wouldnt necessarly stop a snake from physically breeding, I personally wouldn't risk it just in case whatever is wrong is genetic and thus is passed on to the offspring.
You make a good point, and I may choose not to. Ultimately, it doesn't seem to have affected him greatly except he lost about 1/3 cm off of his tail because of the kink. I don't recall it ever getting trapped or what so I'm left to conclude that it naturally developed that way. Regardless, thank you very much for your advice. |

If anerys parents are normal and ghost, that makes him at the very least anery het hypo.
If you dont know anything about amels parents, then for now assume she is just amel
amel + anery het hypo = normals het amel, anery, possible het hypo
While a kink or similar at the end of the tail wouldnt necessarly stop a snake from physically breeding, I personally wouldn't risk it just in case whatever is wrong is genetic and thus is passed on to the offspring.
