Georgina Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:48:25
I can imagine they were just competing for space if you didn't she any flesh joining them, go on youtube and search corn snakes mating and I'm sure some come up. But seperate them today x
hayden764 Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:46:51
no
Georgina Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:32:41
This is why you shouldn't keep opposite sexed corns together, you have to seperate them. And keep an eye on the female. If she does become gravid I would speak to your local vet and see if they are able to give after care if needed. Its hard to belive that two so small would mate and at that age, but it is possibly. Were their tails just wrapped around or did you see anything joining them?

Unfourtunatly an I'm not just saying this to be nasty, but you've just found out first hand one of the bigger reasons not to Co habit at any age.
hayden764 Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:27:11
i mean i always wanted them to mate but not that young
Isoldael Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:24:22
I definitely wouldn't pick them up or try to seperate them when it's already happening. You could damage the reproductive organs of both snakes. The best you can do now is seperate the snakes into their own vivariums and pray that your female will be alright.
hayden764 Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:15:27

hayden764 Posted - 31/07/2012 : 10:12:27

Lixra Posted - 31/07/2012 : 09:18:56
Ah I read that wrong, they're both 6 months old. But if you could answer me and Georgina's questions it would helpful in telling you what to do next
Lixra Posted - 31/07/2012 : 09:17:16
Ok, calm down, deep breaths

I'm assuming you had this snake (is it male or female, the 6 month old and how big is it?) housed with another, so you should definitely separate them. When you say "try" were they definitely locked up? Or was it just an attempt on the male's part? How old was the other snake?

Mating doesn't "hurt" them in that sense of the word, but they're probably both a little stressed at the moment. But as I said above, definitely separate them.
Georgina Posted - 31/07/2012 : 09:15:23
I can imagine it does yes. Why are they in together?
