Hey guys, so nearly a week after the eggs were layed, and im curous to know something. If an egg is nice and healthy after a week and hasn't collapsed, does this mean it has been fertilised properly and in 55 days time they will hatch, or could they just go mouldy at any moment?
Would be interested to know some tips about re hydrating eggs as well with methods that actually work!

Just to throw a spanner in the works, just because they look nice, white eggs it doesn't mean they are fertilised. When Connie has layed her infertile clutches she usually has a few that look like fertilised eggs. Last year I even incubated them just out of curiosity and one took 3 weeks to go mouldy. |

Don't worry if they take longer than 55 days either - last year I had a batch that didn't hatch until like 87 days, and they were all perfectly healthy :) |

If the eggs are on the right substrate and the humidty is right u shoudlnt need to do anything to that eggs at all. Some people do put a small layer of spagnum moss over the top as this helps with humidity an has anti fungal properties |

sounds like they should be o.k. ocassionally eggs can die if the temps are not right or the humidity is not right. hatching is normally between 55-65 days. If you do need to re-hydrate the eggs place a few sheets of kitchen towel over the eggs and spray with water,using water the same temperature as your incubation temperature. |
