my female had what i though was her post laying shed yesterday
the male has been back in with her now for a couple of days and now that she has shed, they have started playing cat and mouse again (trashing the viv in the process lol)

is this how double clutches work?
bit confused i though mating season was over?

It may be breeding season for those in the wild, but corns can breed at any time of year and captive ones often do, so it's never really over. I'd have thought she'd need a bit longer to get her strength back before getting hassled by the male again, especially if she'd not even regained her weight yet. If she were to double clutch you need her back up to strength asap, not getting stressed.

they always cohabbited,
when she had her prelay shead i put the male in a small rub
(a little too small in my opinion)
so after the female had taken a few feeds i put him back in
i thought mating season was over lol
its only happened the once since this morning since he went in the day before yesterday.
i think it could just be the seperation tbh,
when i first got the female it was about august time
and they were on it like sonic for the first few days

if it reoccurs ill seperate them until shes fully regained her weight.

Did u put male back in to get a second clutch or because u assumed breeding time was over an Co habit normally. They can retain sperm which is how the double clutch with only one introduction of the male.

personally i'd leave the male seperated if you can, so the female can rest

even if you didn't put the male back with the female she could still double clutch. if it's the 1st shed after egg laying then it's a post laying shed. if she does double clutch she will lay again around the time the 1st clutch hatches give or take a week.
