Posted - 12/08/2011 : 11:40:30 im thinking about buying a Bloodred 100% Het Hypo Anery Pied 50% from kev with the intention of breeding with a anery motley het amel and hypo for some pied's would that be possible (both are still hatchlings)????
sorry but this would be my first time at breeding so not sure going to read up on it as ive got at least 3years to swat up on it but TBH i dont want to shed that much money for a snake thats not pied unless i know it may produce at least some. |

Posted - 13/08/2011 : 09:01:25 that lat one will produce pieds, and possibly hypo pieds. that would be your best shot. |

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 22:22:13 you can yes, but as I mentioned each hatchling has a 50% chance of being het for pied, or not. I am unsure if het pied in corns has any markers though. |

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 21:19:36 so can you breed two snakes from the same clutch???? and would that produce a higher chance of pied??? sorry for all these questions like i said im new to breeding but im trying my best to swat up (ive got at the very least 2-3 years??) |

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 19:53:05 from that you wont produce any pied hatchies. as Mike has said you need both snakes to have the pied gene and only one of yours does, any babies would be 50% chance of being het pied though. |

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 13:18:34 Need to know what the 50% bit is all about, thats quite important. both snakes HAVE to be het for pied to get pieds out, if its 50% possible pied, then even with another 100% het, you chances arent overly great. If you want to be sure to get pieds out as babies, you need two 100% het pieds, or a visual pied and a 100% het pied, anything else and the chances are quite slim. |
