Just a quick question, is there ALWAYS a pre-lay shed? As in, should I wait for a pre-lay shed before putting in a moss box and prepping the incubator? I don't want to wake up one morning and find eggs when I'm not ready!

As GP has said get your incubator running and the laybox in, she may take a while to get used to it being there and using it. They can lay anytime between shedding and 10 days after

if it's 4-5 weeks since she mated switch the 'bator on and put in the laying box.......can't hurt to be prepared!
one of my breeding females lays within hours of her pre-natal shed but i think the 'average' is a week
