Posted - 25/02/2011 : 12:59:19 I have 2 young corns, one male caramel het hypo and a female amber that i intend to breed when they are an appropriate weight/age.
I would like to get a stripe in the mix so any suggestions which would be best/ what morph of stripe?
Thanks in advance |

using an animal that is homozygous stripe will guarantee all the babies 100% het stripe
even if the partner isn't homo or het for stripe? I thought both snakes had to be het or homo stripe to produce any stripe babies.
Edit - Sorry eeji, i mis-read your post. That will teach me to read things properly before replying
So babies from those pairings will be het for stripe but not visually stripe? |

Posted - 25/02/2011 : 13:19:45 If you mate those two you wont get any stripes unless they are both het for stripe. Even if you are getting another snake that is a stripe, then one of yours has got to be het stripe to be able to produce any stripe babies. If you are looking for one then I would look for a caramel, hypo or amber stripe or one het for hypo or caramel or both. Think thats right although someone may correct me. Hope this helps. |
