this is kinda embarresing thing to ask but i was wondering whether snakes can be inbred? obviously because all my snakeys come from the same shop there may be a chance they are related (although i dont think they are). will this cause problems when we start to breed the two together?

Yes, snakes can be inbred, but for the first 2 or 3 generations it doesn't seem to cause the problems you would expect to see in mammals.

Siblings are often bred to each other, as are parents and babies, to improve morph examples or produce a morph that has been part of a long term breeding plan.

Eg:(One of my plans) Some hets are ignored to save confusion

Pewter x Hypo het charcoal= Normals het charcoal and diffused and charcoals het diffused

SO

Charcoal het diffused (son) x Pewter (mother)= pewters!

From what little I know about morphs, I believe it was inbreeding that made the original strains of the different morphs we have now.
Otherwise everyone would just have the wildtype/normal/carolina.

But don't take that as gospel though, my morph knowledge is based on colours, they're either white, orange, orangey grey.....etc etc.
