Some of mine didn't eat until they were over 2 months. As Mike said, darkness helps as does quietness.

Put it this way, some of mine still havent fed and its been 4 weeks. So i wouldnt worry too much just yet.
I leabe the pinky in with them over night, sometimes the darkeness can helpthem with confidence.

Hi guys ,possibly have a problem, still cant get the other 9 babies to feed. They are just over 2 weeks old and they will not eat. I tried a warm pinkie defrosted in warm water and naturally defrosted and nothing. Any advice anyone.Iam getting worried .How long till the yoke runs out . Best wishes Charlie

I would try to feed of a night then if they don't take them you can leave them in over night and take them out in the morning.

Hi all just one more question, should I leave the pinkies in or take them out if they dont want them and wait a few days. The pinkies are slowly going rotten. Many thanks

Ah clever! Wish I had thought about this when I was changing one snakes bedding 8 times a day as it kept knocking it over...

It might be another few days or weeks before they eat. Warming the mouse and putting in a quiet, dark area normally does the trick.

Hi, people have been saying what they use for water bowls, would it be alright to use a milk carton lid, they don't have any sharp edges and are quite wide, would this be alright?
crazy JJ Posted - 09/07/2010 : 12:21:33
they shed about a week later after hatching :D
tupolev Posted - 09/07/2010 : 11:08:32

Don't worry, they won't starve! they're finishing the yolk. Wait till they've shed. Mine have only just shed, and even then they've refused their first offer of food, so don't panic!!
tupolev Posted - 09/07/2010 : 00:46:08
Hi all the oldest are coming up to 5 days old, should I offer a pinkie or wait for the first shed.So far none have shed I just checked.Wouldnt want any to starve.
Many thanks

Hi all we have twelwe babies all in all with one egg still to hatch,I will post some pics later this week many thanks for all your help. None have shed yet or fed. five days will be up end of this week.

Congrats, glad to hear they are doing well. As far as heads go, if the heads are out they are doing fine, just let them come out as and when.
Its not the yoke seeping out, its the fluid they sit in.
Have no fear!
