Posted - 15/06/2010 : 14:37:32 Well, its almost time, the ghost eggs are due to hatch on thursday, the butter motleys shortly after that, then the royals, then the amels, then the anery motleys! The Metallic eggs didnt survive, although 2 are still in the incubator as a last ditch effort, i will cutting them open soon. I think i am down to about 10 butter motley eggs, but all the others are still going strong! Mr Hurricane successfully fertilized over 40 eggs in a week, hes a good lad! Pics will be coming soon, i will try and get them as they are coming out! |

Posted - 01/07/2010 : 21:24:36 The royals havent shed yet, so i wont be trying to feed them for a few days yet! i am going to try them on fuzzies to start with, to me they look capable of eating small mice, so as soon as they are feeding properly, thats what they will have. |

Posted - 01/07/2010 : 16:36:44 Hahaha 3 extra snakes is a lot for someone who doesn't have a lot of room! If the cat didn't need a sofa to sleep on I would be arranging to have some of your babies :( I saw the Royal :) he looks short and tubby compared to a corn lol have any of your Royals fed yet at all? They are so cute though! What to Royal hatchlings eat? Fuzzies? |

Posted - 01/07/2010 : 13:49:01 Only 3???? That's not good enough! Am sure I could persuade you to have more! The royals are actually about the same size as the corns length wise, its the girth that's vastly different! There is a pic on here somewhere of one of the baby royals! The one I held yesterday looked like it had a moment of bravery, it was gonna bite me! But the bravery didn't last and it just hid! Lol Temper wise they are totally different, if it wasn't the feeding issue I would recomend them to everyone!! When my female laid her eggs I couldn't believe the size, I am certain that if she could have, she would have had tears in her eyes! They were easily about 4 or 5 inches long and a girth that would be about the same. |

Posted - 01/07/2010 : 13:29:57 One of my babies was only 7g and he had eaten 10 times and one that had eaten twice was only 3g x.x maybe my scales are funny lol maybe mine were tiny hatchies and yours are bigger and longer? lol althought I don't know the weight of them when hey first hatched.
I would love to see a baby royal x.x have any of them eaten yet? and wow, those are some massive eggs! How long are hatchie Royals? Are they the same length as corns
It's kinda a job job I don't live near you! I would come home with 3 snakes lol |

Posted - 01/07/2010 : 12:24:43 To be fair, the one I weighed had eaten 5 days ago, so slightly over hatchling weight, but not by much! The eggs, the royals were about 5 times the size of corn eggs. |

The size difference is amazing....what would you guess is the weight difference between a royal hatchling and a corn hatchling? Royal babies just look like....stretched out slugs (I have tried to come up with the nicest description I could ), while corn babies are shoelaces with heads!

Hahaha I thought that as well XD
Wow Mikey, your little corns are heavier than when mine first hatched :o |

Righto, i weighed them! No.1 Corn weighs just 5g!! Baby Royal weighs in at 68g. Baby Corns are proper fast......Baby royals however, fits nicely in the palm of my hand and doesnt even try and get away!
That is a major difference in weight ....but then I guess I shouldnt be too surprised considering the difference in the size of the adults. What is the size difference with the eggs? (sorry for all the questions, just interested )
I can just imagine your lighting reaction as you grab for the baby corn trying to disappear fast under the rack !! And again it shows such a major difference between the 2 snakes even from birth....the royal will sit and do nothing while the corn makes life exciting !!

Baby royals however, fits nicely in the palm of my hand and doesnt even try and get away! |

Posted - 30/06/2010 : 17:06:13 Honestly I don't know their weight, I will weigh them tonight, I would imagine the corns to be around 5-10g and the royals about 70 - 80. Total guess though, will be sure later. |
