I just put Sids hides, plants, etc on top of his substrate. He soon borrows under it if he wants to hide somewhere!

you could do.. i used to rip up some kitchen towel or screw a sheet up and put it in hides that at the time were too big for my lot - never bothered them, just gave them other places to hide

Lol, you're not an over dramatic mother, you're a normal snake owner trying to do the very best for her snake and there's nothing wrong with that!!! Isn't it just sods law that you provide your snake with lots of proper hides and they choose somewhere else

she was probably just exploring and found a new place to hide
i wouldnt worry too much but just make sure that there isnt any way she could get stuck behind there

hiya yh got 4/5 plants in there she does normally get comfy in the biggest plant and sort of hangs there which i love to watch. i dont mind if she wants to hide out really just didnt know if there was a serious reason for it im like an over dramatic mother with her lol :) xxx

put some kitchen towel screwed up into the gaps so he cant get through if you want to stop him hiding there
toilet rolls with one end screwed up work well, have you got any fake plants ect in his housing? they work really well as extra hiding places plus they make the housing less exposed - could be that hes feeling a bit overexposed and wanted somewhere more closed in to hide.. or he was just exploring and got comfy
