Ok so I have two questions for this. One involves moving house the other involves moving housing.
Normals been very skittish and snappy recently, I'm handling her as much as possible but it's not helping, I'm thinking its because she's got too much space and feels vulnerable. So I bought a smaller rub which is about and half her length across, so I'm wondering when I move her to the new housing do I leave her for 7 days to settle in?
Next question, I'm waiting to hear about housing cause mums loosing this house and I was wondering when I move do the snakes need a 7 day settling period the same as when they were bought? |

I've just moved.. packed all the corns into tubs with some of their substrate and a loo roll and put them in a box together so they didnt fall about, then put the bit of substrate and loo roll back in their fauns with all their previous stuff..left em for 6days before feeding 
they seem to have adjusted well
as long as you dont feed them within 48 hours of you moving they should be fine |

In regards the moving house thing, provided you don't do a complete cleanout or similar on the viv during the move, then they should be ok to go back in, things might just have moved a little.
Obviously the transporting of the snakes is most awkward, I'd recommend putting them into pillow cases, which then go into rubs.
When you downsize the rub, stick a load of the existing substrate and as much of the stuff from her current viv as possible because then it will still be familiar to her and all that will be different is the sides of the rub.
Give her 2-3 days to chill before getting her out again.
A full 7 days is only really necessary when a totally different owner and/or housing has changed really.

I cheated a bit when moving, because mine are fed out of the vivs I put them into cases inside their respective feeding tubs then moved.
After I had the vivs and everything plugged back in and running, I then eased them out of the cases and fed them.
When they went back into their vivs, the only thing that had changed was the outside view. |

I'd be really interested to hear people's views on moving house, we're just sorting out our completion date so hopefully will be moving in a few weeks. The plan is to do a full tank clean a week before we move so we only need to spot clean for a week after moving date, and we're manipualting feeding patterns so they all feed three or four days before the move. We've arranged lodgings (at the OH's parents just round the corner) while we actually move (we're planning just the day while we're banging things around but they would be able to stay there longer if needed) then move them in during the evening. Then (and this will be the really hard part) leave them for a week to settle in. Is this what other people would do? |
