Posted - 28/02/2010 : 20:06:52 Hi Again found this piece of wood was thinking as using it as a new hide i'm currently soaking in bleach for a few hours then will bake it for an hour or so
would i need to remove bark? as i think it looks pretty wicked as it is and make a great hide for harley!!

Any piece of wood I have got from our garden I have done as BE has recommended to ensure that any bugs and their eggs under the bark are killed. Definitely the way to go once you have finished soaking out the bleach and allowed it to dry naturally.

bleach it last night came up ok i think i'll soak it for a few days more to be on the safe side!! |

Posted - 28/02/2010 : 20:36:04 id leave it in water aswell before baking it to let all the bleach out..you dont want to bake the bleach into it has it got bleach on it in the pics - as i can see white fuzzy stuff and cant tell (got dodgy eyes anyway) if its bleach or mouldy fuzz..
but looks like a decent little hiding spot |
