Ie are males bigger?
Just curious, as with most species the male is bigger.
Thanks

Posted - 06/02/2010 : 13:40:32 i think female is bigger because the bigger the female the more eggs she can have . That means there is more chance of more surviving in the wild (or captivity?).

Posted - 05/02/2010 : 14:41:47 yeah you are Elament, if the female is under 3, 3ft long and 300g's theres a higher risk of complications because her small size usually isnt big enough to cope with eggs and the like |

Posted - 05/02/2010 : 11:26:26 Hi Gaz, I think that the females tend to be longer and slimmer as adults, and the males shorter in length but chunkier. |

Posted - 05/02/2010 : 11:09:04 A freind of mine (who has around 8 corns in his house) has a theory but not on size. He reckons (having had all his sexed) that the females tend to curl/wrap around your fingers and hang on while the males tend to just crawl around on you. TBH I dont know how correct that is although I have Zena and Colin I was told colin is male (hense the name) and we are guessing Xena is female because unlike colin when you get her out the first thing she does is wrap round your fingers and hang on. Also Xenas tail does seem to be shorter and less tapered in comparison to Colin. |
