snakie shed the other day, which is a first for me. giving her a once over and noticed she didnt manage the tip of her tail, so i have given her a couple of baths and got her to crawl through a damp towel and got most of it off but the last 5mm, dont want to give her anymore baths today because its stressing her and me out aswell haha, do i continue to bathe her or hope it rubs off in her faun shes on aspen and has a lump of bark to go over. |

Some snakes just won't stay in a bath long enough to soften the skin, if this is the case try a tiny bit of olive oil on your fingers and massage the area really gently. You can use a tissue to wipe off any excess oil but it really shouldn't cause any harm. |

How long is your snake being bathed for? I picked up a rescue the other day with a couple of sheds worth of tail tip still on which has resulted in the end of his tail becoming necrotic. I locked him in a tub of warm water for 15 mins and it came straight off with a gentle wipe with some kitchen towel.
The tail tip does need to come off fairly, as above the old skin can restrict the blood flow and cause problems. I would think that you will have the same problem again if you leave it till the next shed, as there will already be skin their. Also, if the tail is damaged it often creates a dent that the skin ends up getting stuck on. |

tried again tonight with damp kitchen roll and with the back of nail try to gently rub the rest off but only a few scales flaked off, ill try bathing her again tommorow and rub down with kitchen roll but if this dosent work wats the likely hood of it coming off next shed (with help from some moss this time?) |

ditto the no tweezers approach, the damp towel approach is less likely to damage your snake
if the rest of the shed skin has come off then there's no reason for the tail tip to not be 'ready' |

next time she comes to shed you could try putting some moist moss inside her hides - put it in after her eyes have cleared up after going blue - and it should help her a bit more

I personally wouldn't recommend tweezers.
If you REALLY have to try, then gently rub with your thumb or finger.
There is to great a risk (imo) of causing more damage if you slip or if the snake twitches when you have a bit of it's tail clamped between tweezers. |

Does it Look ready to come off?
If so get some tweezers and really gently try and pull it down towards the end of the tail.
If it takes too much effort to shift it then leave it. |

Maybe instead of bathing her, just let her wiggle through a warm damp towel.
Quite often, with a small bit of pressure, a snake wiggling through that will dislodge any stuck shed.
Is it the first time she has had this happen?
