Posted - 18/01/2010 : 19:55:47 using a thermo gun to take temp readings, going up and down the mat im getting some funky readings sometimes upto a 5 degree variance in parts 25-30C, i have a dusting of aspen at the warm end which ive tried to spread as even as possible but snakie likes to spread the stuff around, before you ask the mat is stat controled and under a faun, could the mat be dodgy or just the substrate depth change? snakie dosent seem to mind she seems to find her spot and and stick to it, also no prob feeding. |

Posted - 18/01/2010 : 21:01:23 Same as above. But if you slid the faun off the mat and took reading from the mat then I would think it'll be a lot closer. However, as long as the temps are in the ball park it'll be fine. |

Posted - 18/01/2010 : 20:19:14 The mat will be fine. If your measuring the temperature of the substrate you can't expect to get a constant reading anyway. The mat also won't have a constant temperature all over its surface. |
