Standard enclosure types are

Fauns (Faunariums)
RUBS (Really Useful Boxes) as already stated
Vivs (Vivariums typically made from Wood or acrylic)
Terrariums (Glass tanks aimed at herp keepers)
Aquariums (Some people keep herps in them, obviously without the water though, )

Right, looking at my aquarium size guide the nearest I got is 22.2 gallons at L36" x W12" H15" so a total of 4ft of snake. BUT, there are so many variations in dimensions/volumes for tanks/aquariums. So you are better of working in length/width/height rather than volume.

That is over 4ft by nearly 2ft by 2 1/2 so that is plenty big enough. The reason for the size guids is ...snakes need to be able to stretch out at least a 1/3 of the body for respiration purposes, they have only one fully functional lung, the right lung is really small and either non or barely functional, so if they are coiled up ALL the time they have problems breathing.

A viv is a vivarium, the name for what we keep our adult snakes in. Small ones start out either in RUBs (Really Useful Boxes) or fauns and then you move upwards. Cant help you with the gallon question as we really need to know length, depth and height....rather than capacity.

ok, would the 3ft version of that one be ok for a royal, the lx.

rule of thumb length of snake = length of viv + width of viv.

so average lenght of corn 5foot
lenght of viv 4foot
width of viv 1foot

or

lenght of viv 3foot
width of viv 2foot

you can get away with smaller viv's aswell its just a rough guide

ok, good, thats the cheaper one any way, so i would be ok with the smaller one.

the first one is plenty big enough
