Search for 'vivexotic' on ebay, much cheaper and good quality, I have 8 of them.
BE I was looking at those Vivs on 888, both their own and the Vivexotic ones. On the exotic ones they mention the cable out outlets on the back and that you might have to seal one, how big are the holes?

Posted - 13/01/2010 : 17:05:18 as mentioned above about the rubber stoppers, you can make ytour own. get a rubber for 99p, the big ones, then cut it in half diagonally and you have 2. |

Posted - 13/01/2010 : 14:51:19 Yes it does, just took a few mins of bending and it was pretty much straight. If your worried you can get those rubber door stop style locks for the glass doors:
Last time I checked they were selling for about £1.99 on ebay. |

Posted - 13/01/2010 : 14:38:15 Thanks very much, I will get myself one of these (Well my missus is getting it for my birthday :-p)
Glad you mentioned the lock. Does it work okay now that you have modified it? If so then I will be doing the same.
Thanks

Posted - 13/01/2010 : 14:18:52 Me and HannahB built one last night from 888 for one of our royal pythons, they come flat packed and are very easy and fast to put together. Much like Ikea furniture you only need a posi screwdriver to put them together.
They are your bog standard stock vivariums, the gap is quite small between the glass so one of the locks we purchased from 888 wouldn't fit as it wasn't a straight fit lock (until I took a pair of plyers to the lock).
Not sure exactly what size heat mat we used but the black heat area on the mat shouldn't really cover much more than 1/3 of the viv.
[Edit] Example of the lock:
See how the lock curves down near the end? That won't fit between the 888 viv's glass. |
